Types of hosting services

A hosting service means storing and/or sharing certain content on a web server handled by a website hosting distributor. There are various forms of hosting services utilized for various goals, so let's study them. In this way, you can conclude what you need, based on whether you desire to build a blog, e-mailbox accounts, or to share files with comrades and associates.

- File hosting: a solution delivered by particular file storage providers, which lets you share enormous files. These could be disk images, movies, audio files, archived documents, etc. This service is also known as file storage, and its only goal is to share files, since it does not offer web page uploading. Once the files are uploaded, you will either receive a randomly generated download link for each of them, or you will be able to see an inventory of all the files in a directory, but you will be unable to see .html or .php web page files in your browser. Free-of-charge file storage packages often involve adverts by the download links, while a timer obliges you to await a particular spell of time to observe them. A given file can be downloaded with limited speed. If you get a paid file storage package, there are no limitations as to how many files you can upload/download instantly, and also there is no restriction in regard to the download speed or the file size.

Now, with the assistance of the cPanel hosting traders, "file hosting" is being renamed to the more modish "cloud hosting". This is a totally unsuitable interpretation of the actual connotation of "cloud hosting". An actual cloud website hosting environment would apportion the load between independent bunches of web servers in a cluster, which are dedicated to attending various website hosting services (email, web space, statistics, DNS, databases, web site hosting CP, and so on.) So, the file hosting service is simply a sort of a disk space hosting solution, not a cloud hosting one. It's not even close.

- Image hosting: akin to file hosting; some corporations offer a hosting solution for pictures exclusively. This hosting variant is appropriate if you would like to share an enormous quantity of pictures with chums or acquaintances since the service is mostly free of cost. You will receive a randomly generated link for each and every picture or album and you can subsequently share this link. As with the file hosting solution, .html and .php files are not compatible, so the solution cannot be used for web pages.

- Email hosting: a service devoted to taking care of your e-mail aliases. Some corporations offer web site hosting services for web sites, but do not provide an email hosting solution. If you wish to own an email address with your domain name but do not desire to own a website, then the email hosting service is what you require. You can set up e-mail box accounts and administer them, but there will be no hosting service for the domains. The email hosting service involves incoming POP/IMAP and outgoing SMTP e-mail servers.

- Video hosting: this solution enables you to upload and share video clips. You can either share a link to a particular video, or you can embed the video clip in your web page that is hosted somewhere else. The advantage of using this method instead of uploading the video clip in a hosting account is that the video clip creates a given amount of central processing unit load, so with a handful of video clips and several hundred web page visitors, you may have a problem with your web page hosting reserves. Embedding the video will enable you to have as many videos as you desire without worrying about system resources.

- Web page hosting: this is the solution that you need if you would like to keep a site. To some extent, it contains all of the abovementioned hosting kinds since, along with your sites, you can also host images and files, you can have databases and email box accounts, upload videos, and so on. At Incite Graphics, for example, you can take a peek at web hosting and dedicated web server hosting plans that permit you to get all of the aforesaid solutions in one place. There may be limitations depending on the sort of hosting solution that you've picked - a free hosting package, a paid shared hosting package, a VPS or a dedicated server. Depending on that, your web page hosting plan may be better or worse compared with the regular email/file/video/image hosting accounts that are planned for particular web content solely.
